Child Safety releases new Strategic Plan

The Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women has released its new Strategic Plan 2019-2023. Michael Hogan, Director-General, Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women has emphasised, “We must put the people we serve at the centre of our service delivery, involve them in decision-making about their own lives and respect people’s human rights.” The plan is informed by “people who receive our services about what they need from us”. The plan makes a commitment to four key responsibilities for the Department: the safety and wellbeing of children and young people, especially those in or leaving care; ending domestic, family and sexual violence and abuse; providing opportunities for young people to lead and contribute; and promoting gender equality.
