The Fair Work Commission has updated all industry and occupation awards to include a new leave clause about family and domestic violence. This new clause applies from the first full pay period from 1st August 2018. The clause provides for 5 days of unpaid leave for employees to use if needing to deal with impacts of family and domestic violence that is violent, threatening or other abusive behaviour by an employee’s family member that seeks to coerce or control the employee, and/or causes them harm or fear.
