Australian Gambling Research Centre future directions

The Australian Gambling Research Centre (AGRC) provides high quality, evidence-based publications and resources for policy-makers, researchers and professionals in the area of gambling. AGRC’s research priorities relate to understanding determinants of gambling consumption, as well as measures to prevent and reduce gambling-related harm, including harms to gamblers, families, and communities. For professionals working in community services, gambling can constitute a challenge when supporting families. AGRC has produced a number of resources relevant to the child welfare sector, including this study on the experiences of family members affected by problem gambling, this study on gambling in CALD communities, this study on recovery pathways, and this report informed by the latest Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia (HILDA) survey. AGRC is currently inviting stakeholders to take part in a survey to inform future research directions and provide a better picture of how their resources are being used.
