Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander groups in Townsville are being called to join the fight against overrpresentation of Indigenous youth in the criminal justice system, with tender applications now open for funding to deliver cultural mentoring in Townsville. Cultural mentoring is a valuable means by which Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people can restore and strengthen their connections to community, culture and country. The cultural mentoring service applying for funding should provide services for 10 to 17 year olds and must be designed and delivered by Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people from the Townsville region.
